Return to Excel 2010 Formula Bar
The Excel 2010 Formula bar has two sizes: condensed and expanded.
Condensed Formula Bar
The condensed formula bar contains the Insert Function Command, Formula Bar Text Box, Expand Command, Horizontal Re-sizer and Vertical Re-sizer.

Expanded Formula Bar
The expanded formula bar contains everything the condensed formula bar contains, except instead of the Expand Command, the expanded formula bar contains the Condense Command.

Insert Function Command
The expanded formula bar contains everything the condensed formula bar contains, except instead of the Expand Command, the expanded formula bar contains the Condense Command.For more information, see Excel 2010 Expanded Formula Bar.
Insert Function Command
This command will open the Insert Function Dialog. This dialog can be used to search for a function to insert into the active cell.For more information, see Excel 2010 Insert Function Dialog.
Formula Bar Text Box
This text box can be used to view, edit or enter data, functions or formulas within the active cell.For more information, see Using the Formula Bar in Excel 2010.
Condense Command
This command will change the formula bar from the expanded formula bar to the condensed formula bar. This command is only available if the formula bar is not already condensed.For more information, see How to Condense the Formula Bar in Excel 2010.
Expand Command
This command will change the formula bar from the condensed formula bar to the expanded formula bar. This command is only available if the formula bar is not already expanded.For more information, see How to Expand Formula Bar in Excel 2010.
Horizontal Re-sizer
The horizontal re-sizer is used to re-size the formula bar left to right. The bigger the formula bar get the smaller the Name Box gets.For more information, see How to Re-size the Formula Bar Horizontally in Excel 2010.
Vertical Re-sizer
The vertical re-sizer is used to re-size the formula bar top to bottom. As the formula bar is re-sized vertically the area for the workbooks will be shrunk vertically.For more information, see How to Re-size the Formula Bar Vertically in Excel 2010.
